Lake Powell straddles a time-zone quirk: Page & the Arizona side stay on MST all year,
the Utah side and Navajo Nation use MDT. Pick whichever your group is running on.
Only matters for accuracy of the overlay. If the sun marker sits right but drifts as you pan,
nudge this. Most phone main cameras are 60–70°; ultra-wide is 100–110°.
Phone compasses drift near boats, engines and rock. Easiest fix: point the crosshair
straight at the real sun and tap 🧭 → Align to sun.

Line the centre crosshair up with something you can
identify, then lock it in. This overrides the phone compass entirely — it is the most accurate option.
If the phone has no usable compass, turn this on and drag the screen to aim: drag
left/right for heading, up/down for tilt.
Where will the sun be?
Point your camera at the canyon wall, cliff or slot you're thinking of tying up in. The app draws the sun's
whole path across the real view so you can see exactly when it drops behind the rock.
